the ebd bell
I started teaching in 1975 at the Children's Home of Cedar Rapids. It was a residential treatment program for emotionally disturbed adolescents. I was the first teacher they had and I was pretty naive. About a month into the school year, one of the little delinquents stole my keys. He finally gave them up but I bought this bell so if it happened again, I would be able to detect who had them. This bell has been on my school key ring ever since. Today I am delivering to a young teacher I admire very much. Good-bye to my little EBD bell. It was a good friend for 36 years.
